Sea freight prices remain on a downward trend, with signs of recovery in some areas. As of September 2, the shipping composite index was around 3,205 yuan.
U.S. rail freight and intermodal volumes were mixed for the week ended Aug. 27, according to data released this week by the Association of American Railroads (AAR).
- Rail cars (242,633) were up 3.4% year over year, up from 237,404 and 237,857 in the weeks ended Aug. 20 and Aug. 13, respectively.
- Intermodal containers and trailers (268,941) were down slightly 0.3% year over year, up from 26,144 and 264,924 in the weeks ended Aug. 20 and Aug. 13, respectively.

- In September 2022, the price of white cardboard was US$847/ton; the year-on-year growth rate was -10.46%.
- In September 2022, the price of waste paper (yellow cardboard) was US$298.3/ton; the year-on-year growth rate was -14.52%.
- In August 2022, the pulp price was $1,055.7 per ton. In July 2022, the growth rate of pulp prices at the end of the period was 34.35%.
- In September 2022, the price of hardwood pulp was US$975.4/ton; the year-on-year growth rate was 46.25%
